Hi there, it was a pleasure to know you speak Hebrew.. as we say, “you are one of us”
your project seems very interesting, after your words i understand that lag fix makes virtual or kind of ext3 and copies data folder there, the only question is, why it takes more battery?
Regarding the battery, I actually have no idea. One guess would be that having the extra mounts (which the lagfix uses) might be heavy a bit on the battery, but i fail to see a valid reason for that. I suggest you check the xda forums or iandroid.co.il if you prefer in Hebrew.
Also, I would suggest using the voodoo lagfix, since it doesn’t use a virtual mount, but actually formats the /data partition for ext4 – this shouldn’t drain the battery, from what i know. If it does, the voodoo-project author (supercurio) is very helpful, so you can check with him too, he will be able to provide you with more information on the subject.
Your site is a great advance in hacking into android! I am proud to be an Israeli too
I’d like your help – I have a Samsung Galaxy Beam I8520 which is a close relative of the SGS but with no community and in dire need of a lagfix.
Do you think you can help me acheiving this? I need some way to download the phone’s partitions and make a way to reflash the phone if the OS gets screwed

Hi,
I just find your website which is very intersting. You looks like to better understand the SGS than me
Now, I’m searching a little help. I develop this app : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=8693956#post8693956
Not a big thing, but I try to find a way to flash the SGS directly from the app by using “dd” command.
When I extract the kernel I use this : dd if=/dev/block/bml7 of=/sdcard/bml7-zImage-kernel-backup.img
The result is a different file that one I’ve previously flash on my SGS and that I’ve extracted from a update.ip file.
Can you help me to find a way to extract a file that I can distribute through the app to help people to install easily voodoo lagfix or other kernel ?
Thanks in advance.
My mail is “snoopy33 /at/ no-log.org”
